Maybe it's nothing but it smells like something

From the Memorandum of Understanding (pdf file) section 5, Rules Applicable to all Debates part e:

Neither film footage nor video footage nor any audio excerpts from the debates may be used publicly by either candidate’s campaign through any means, including but not limited to, radio, television, internet, or videotapes, whether broadcast or distributed in any other manner.

Why mention this? Tonight on FNC Carl Cameron said that the Kerry Campaign is planning on releasing a commercial showing Bush’s reactions during the debates. If true it seems to me to be a clear violation of the stated agreement on the part of the Kerry Campaign.

UPDATE 11:00 AM: (Via comments) The video is out, however the DNC launched it not the Kerry Campaign which is probably not a violation of the agreement which was between the two campaigns.

UPDATE 11:20 PM: Via Michelle Malkin The Shape of Days notes that the Kerry Campaigns website is linking to the video, not a big deal in and of itself as they're not hosting the video. The Kerry camp released the videos, the DNC picked them up and within 12-18 hours released the videos and it's all deemed legal in the sense that there was no "contact" between the two entities. Fine.

Rich, a commenter at INDC had a good idea for the RNC. Show a clip of Kerry making one statement in the past, another clip showing what he said during the debate and then show Bush’s “frustration”. Most of us had the same look on our faces during the debate, along with choice words, comfort in a bottle of Guinness, and the sudden urge to grab the nearest small mammal and staple it to a wall. Having said that I think Bush handled himself pretty damn well.
